No, we did not forget about it.
It took us a while to sit down and write a special article, but of we couldn't let it go unnoticed.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported The Red Guild in the Ethereum Security QF round.
Technically, this is the second QF round we have participated in, and the first in which we didn't lose money 😅. The last time, a few years ago, our round resulted in a negative 48 USD for us, so we consider this a much better outcome, won't you agree?
Below is a link to the results by the Giveth team. We're thankful for their work throughout the whole round, as well as everyone involved in The DAO Fund. We're aware this is a first-of-its-kind round, with lots of mixed experiences and learnings. Still, it wouldn't have been possible without their efforts and dedication 💪

Top 30 Projects By Matching (ETH) - with a 637.4 ETH matching pool

We came in second place in almost every type of distribution and matching, except on donor bases, which were one of the most diverse.
We didn't share much, but we also donated to a huge amount of projects. Because of that, we were also given a shoutout 😄

We're glad to have been supported by many familiar faces; some of them chose to remain anonymous but reached out privately. There are A LOT to name, and anyone can see most of them on our profile.
We know who you are, and couldn't be more thankful ❤️
Blind faith
We'll use the funds to retroactively pay the work of those in our team who've been working for free at The Red Guild. They've contributed non-stop in the guild for free, despite not having funding since last November, not knowing whether we would eventually have it.
The reality is these funds won't be enough to cover all our past expenses as a team. We'll still remain in debt to them. But we're assuming that as part of the uncertainties we deal with when deciding to dedicate our life to public goods in crypto, while rejecting other, likely much more profitable, commercial opportunities.
We would have loved to present a less grim situation. After grinding for more than three years, doing things that were even unthinkable, releasing things for free without any intention other than purely wanting to help and spread awareness, positioning ourselves as one of the top public good contributors in Ethereum, I cannot say we – or at least I – believe it is possible to sustain such a reputable and widely known organization with projects as ambitious as ours, with personal satisfaction as the only income and source of motivation.
The beginning of a new arc
Because of everything said above, these experiences and situations changed me, us, and the organization as a whole. Like a splash of cold water in the morning, it has somehow awakened us. That is why we will continue exploring different ways to fund ourselves, but this time outside public-good contributions, at least temporarily, until we can find our holy grail. It might be The Phishing Dojo, which, by the way, is about to release its first open real beta, or it might be one of these new explorations...
...so far, we'll never know
until we try.
